Position paper: REGULATING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE WITH FORESIGHT

There is international consensus on the need for regulatory frameworks and global agreements to harness the benefits of artificial intelligence (AI) responsibly.

Switzerland is well positioned to play a globally relevant role in the development and testing of AI as a new foundational technology. To achieve this, Switzerland should remain committed to its technology-neutral and principles-based regulation, actively promoting research, development, and innovation.

The Innovate Switzerland community has identified eight priorities to establish a secure and trustworthy framework for working with AI. These include targeted adjustments to existing laws, consistent knowledge building, and the promotion of ESG-compliant AI in Switzerland.
