Design of experiments (DoE), i.e. statistical test planning, plays a particularly important role in product development or the optimisation of production processes. These methods make it possible to generate reliable knowledge with as few experiments as possible. It can be used to optimise products or make processes more robust. As part of Six Sigma, DoE has become somewhat more popular in recent decades, but unfortunately does not yet play the role it deserves in practice. We have various software in-house for the implementation of DoE, e.g. Statistica, Minitab and R.
