Institute for Biomedical Engineering

The Institute for Biomedical Engineering aims at bridging technical and biological systems at all length scales and at educating the next generation of engineers and scientists at the interface beween technology and medicine. We develop and utilize methods and concepts from mathematics, physics and the technical sciences to characterize biological systems at a qualitative and quantitative level. This process is a multi-step approach involving collection of relevant information through sensing and imaging, data interpretation and modeling, and interfacing and interaction with the biological systems.
